Royal Hotel Dungog has built a reputation as one of the Hunter region’s favourite spots for live music. Our calendar runs year-round with performances from local favourites, national touring acts, and the occasional international guest. Whether you’re in town for a weekend getaway or just a night out, there’s always something happening at the Royal – from intimate acoustic sets to big nights that bring the whole community together.
Our calendar includes free gigs and ticketed concerts, local artist showcases, special dining events, Wednesday trivia nights, and seasonal festivities, we’re more than just a pub – we’re where the town comes to celebrate!

Amber Kenny and The Wildflowers are bringing her much anticipated debut album Beautiful Scars to the Royal Hotel in Dungog this December.
Having made its way through the challenges of life changing moments, Beautiful Scars is a collection of intimate songs that share the stories of Amber’s own scars which lie on the inside and out.
Full of authenticity and raw emotion each song is interwoven with the next. Balanced through her own lens of life, Beautiful Scars is how Amber makes sense of the world, the people in it and the situations that have forever changed her.
In 2023, Amber graduated from the Academy of Country Music and released her debut single, "Run Dry" (produced by Nash Chambers), with its video airing on CMT. That year, she also made her Nashville debut at the iconic Bluebird Cafe during the Americana Festival and toured regionally on her "Diaries of a Songwriter" tour, including performances at Tamworth, and the Yass and Bundanoon festivals.

Meg Washington is a platinum-selling, award-winning, and genre-defying singer-songwriter who fluently weaves the worlds of jazz, pop, folk and musical theatre together.

On her Natural Beauty Tour, Meg brings her unforgettable show to an extensive list of some of Australia’s most beautiful and remote locations.
Solo, Meg’s shows are an intimate, captivating spell. Alone at the piano, the soaring melodies and lyrical poetry of her songwriting are laid bare, as Meg makes her way through a selection of songs from her impressive five-album catalog. This show features local talent including students past and present from Dungog High School.
It will be a fun afternoon, showcasing performers from the local and Newcastle area. Some at school, some at University and others who are making a mark in their employment in the Hunter.
