Joseph Tawadros AM is a leading Oud virtuoso, composer and 8 time ARIA-award winner. Born in Cairo, his chosen instrument, the Oud is an Arabic lute, the ancestor of the lute and modern guitar.
A virtuoso of diversity and sensitivity, Joseph performs in concert halls worldwide and is known for his brilliant technique, deep musicianship, storytelling and joyous style of performance. Joseph’s drive to push musical boundaries has inspired collaborations with diverse performers and a solid repertoire of innovative, original music.

The Album Show returns to the Royal Hotel Dungog, this time highlighting the music of the “Heroes Of The Heartland” – Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Bob Seger. Heartland rock grew out of the intersection of rock and country in the 70’s. But it wasn’t until the explosion of these in the late 70’s, that it became a bona fide subgenre. With an eye on the growing social consciousness of the mid 80’s, this group of artists hit critical mass, not only crossing over but dominating the mainstream.

The Album Show celebrates the important and iconic hits of these three incredible artists in a 2 set show, presented by a 5 piece band of some of this collectives most popular singers and instrumentalists. The show will be hit after hit of music that changed the landscape of rock for generations to come. Not to be missed!

Founded by Jenny Eriksson (electric viola da gamba) and jazz luminaries Matt McMahon (piano) and Matt Keegan (horns), the backbone of Elysian Fields’ set list consists of original works written for the line-up by McMahon, Keegan and Eriksson along with arrangements and originals by singer/violinist, Susie Bishop, bassist Brett Hirst, and drummer Dave Goodman.

The band’s covers range widely from Eriksson’s arrangements of several songs by baroque viola da gamba virtuoso, Marin Marais, to charts and folk song arrangements by Susie Bishop and Jenny Eriksson reflecting Jenny’s Scandinavian heritage.

The band has released two albums on the MOVE Records label, ‘What Should I say’ and ‘FIKA,’ with a third album currently in post-production.

Six String Stories - at the Royal Hotel Dungog.

It was a big night at the local Community Hall. Bingo and dancing! “22...two little ducks quack quack!” The winner was announced, the tables were cleared and the band took the stage. Dressed to impress this cool combo were ready to strut their stuff! Especially the young guitarist, the 11 year old (going on 12) Craig McLachlan! With a velvet top, navy flares and a proper grown up electric guitar he made his public performance debut.

Since then he’s been a fave on TV, won a load of Logies, starred on stage, was handed a Helpmann, recorded a tune or two, received an ARIA and yodelled with the Bee Gees while waiting to sing for The Queen! Yes That Queen!

Performing Artists Dungog: Sunset sessions

Nerds & Music consists of two cyborgs assembled by some deranged mechanic in his back shed in Newcastle. Their repertoire ranges from sea shanties about the national broadband network to meditations on the colour brown. Audiences have been rendered dumbstruck by their weirdness, witticisms, wordplay, and alliteration.

Popular, award-winning US Bluegrass band, High Fidelity, embark on their first Australian tour in October/November this year, headlining Australia's two main Bluegrass festivals, Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival in NSW and Mountaingrass in Victoria. They'll also be playing a number of individual gigs in NSW, Victoria and the ACT.

High Fidelity was formed in 2014 by Jeremy Stephens (guitar, banjo & lead vocals) and Corrina Logston ( fiddle & vocals). For their 2024 Australian tour they'll be performing as a four-piece, being joined by James McDowell (ex-Carolina Blue) on guitar & banjo, and Ross Sermons on double bass.

Jeremy has played with the world famous country gospel group, The Chuck Wagon Gang, on the television show Ray Stevens’ Nashville, and with Jesse McReynolds & the Virginia Boys. Corrina has worked with a who’s who of today’s traditional-based bluegrass performers, most notably Jesse McReynolds & the Virginia Boys and Jim Lauderdale. Corrina also toured Australia in 2014 as part of Chris Henry's Hardcore Grass, when she impressed bluegrass audiences around the country.

High Fidelity draws much of their inspiration from bands like The Stanley Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jim & Jesse, Don Reno & Red Smiley, and a host of lesser known regional artists from the same era. Few bands have come along in recent years that directly draw their influence from that classic era of the music’s history. High Fidelity is a group whose love and devotion to that music is unsurpassed. Many have described them as the new Johnson Mountain Boys, interpreting classic era bluegrass through the fresh, young perspective of today’s generation.
