Longtime music educator and performer Phyl Danvers, brings Low Key to the Royal – a mix of voices and stories that span generations. This edition features:

Claire Bagnall – A current Year 12 student at Dungog High, Claire is a rising star with a passion for singing and a proud member of the 2025 Starstruck Core Choir.
Mark Whelan – A 2009 Dungog High graduate, now a local fitness entrepreneur, returning to his creative roots with original lyrics and acoustic tunes.

Katie Spencer’s songwriting, and most notably her guitar playing stems from a time when the steel-stringed instrument was truly finding its voice. Artists like Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and perhaps most evidently Michael Chapman, flow into her sound. Her widely celebrated album, The Edge of the Land (2022), follows her debut release, Weather Beaten (2019) which was praised for its unique song-craft, spell-binding musicianship and crystal sonic clarity. Her gig list is extensive, taking in festivals such as the world-renowned Celtic Connections and Cambridge Folk Festival. Her performances have left audiences in awe of her confidence and craftsmanship with tour dates including UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Australia and Canada.

We’re sorry to announce that the Brother Brothers gig planned for Saturday 1 March has been cancelled due to a surfing mishap.

While the guys are okay, they won’t be able to perform. We know this is disappointing news, and we appreciate your understanding. Those who've purchased tickets will get a refund, and we'll let you know if there's a chance of rescheduling.

We wish The Brother Brothers a speedy recovery—we hope to have them back on stage soon!

Of course we’re still open for drinks and a meal.

The Brother Brothers are delighted to be back touring the East Coast of Australia in 2025. They look forward to headlining the prestigious Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Folk Festival and Yackandandah Folk Festival, while also fitting in Royal Hotel Dungog along the way.

The Brother Brothers are the indie folk duo of Adam and David Moss. The identical twins were born and raised in Peoria, Illinois USA and originally based in Brooklyn, but have been ultimately and profoundly shaped by a life surrounded by travel and the web of community worldwide. They are the kind of people who have a story about everything, and more so, one you might genuinely like to hear.

The Brother Brothers’ luminous touring career spans international headlining, support runs with the likes of Keb Mo, I’m With Her, Big Thief, Lake Street Dive, and Shakey Graves, as well as key plays at NPR’s Mountain Stage, FreshGrass Festival, Folk Alliance, Woodford Folk, and Edmonton Folk among others.

A little later in the year than the traditional Robbie Burns night (we had an Egyptian Oud concert that night!) we invite you to join us for a reading of Scottish and Scottish-inspired Australian poems, together with a tasting of Scottish whiskeys.

Whiskeys by the glass $8.00, supper available. Feel free to wear your finest Scottish attire!

This act features the hypnotically resonant voice of Rory Ellis, in turn playing all things acoustic, joined onstage by harmonica master Christian Marsh. Together they perform stripped down, gutsy versions of songs from Rory's last 10 albums.

Thirty odd years in the making, Rory has performed extensively at major venues and festivals here and abroad alongside greats such as Robert Cray, Richie Havens, Charlie Mussellwhite, Eric Bibb, even Pokey La Farge.
